Texting
I hate texting. If I had a choice, I would completely rid the world of it. All it does is create problems. True emotions cant be shown through reading words on a screen, and people just get confused and take things the wrong way. While texting, kids miss out on all the things the beautiful world has to offer. Looking at a phone all day is not what life is about. I wish texting was never invented, so the world would be a little bit simpler.

SPRING BREAK.
SPRING BREAK. SSPPRRIINNGG BBRREEAAKK. SSSPPPRRRIIINNNGGG BBBRRREEEAAAKKK. Its almost here. Only six more days till, possibly, the best time of the year. Where is everyone going? Somewhere amazing and warm. How are they going to come back? Tan, tan, and oh tan. Its a time that makes everyone happy. I cant say that I can think of anything bad about spring break. And if you can, your crazy. Its a whole week off of school, which is a miracle in itself. Spring break is a wonderous thing, and I am very happy that almost all schools have it. I am thankful for SPRING BREAK.

School
school is over whelming
school makes you cry
school brings confidence down even when you try
it makes you lose sleep
and drives you insane
it constantly makes you feel like your in pain
yeah you learn some good stuff
and awful stuff too
if i had a choice, i wouldnt go, and neither would you
I say school be done with
for all kids to see
the freedom of life without it, and how amazing freedom can be

Watch the video and see for yourself if its all its worked up to be. If you think it is a life changing experience, commment why. If not, your on my side.

Three day weekends
The weekend is almost over, why. Children need more free time to explore the world. And if we are stuck in school 5 days a week, how are we supposed to expand our field of interests. I speak for all kids when I say that weekends should be three days long. Sleep would be caughten up on by the time school came back around and it would create a better learning experience. I hope that some day the world will see from my point of view and give kids the free time they need in a three day weekend.

Basketball
Basketballl is almost over! This is great because basketball makes my life not top noch. I dont like it and Im very very thrilled that I have lessthen 3 days left. I willl never have to be scrutinized by that awful coach I have ever agian. She is mean and hates me, literally. The only remotely good thing about basketballl season is watching the boys play and staying in shape. Other then that, basketball= worst mistake everr.

Perfect Two
You can be the peanut butter to my jelly
You can be the butterflies I feel in my belly
You can be the captain
And I can be your first mate
You can be the chills that I feel on our first date
You can be the hero
And I can be your sidekick
You can be the tear That I cry if we ever split
You can be the rain from the cloud when it's stormin'
Or u can be the sun when it shines in the mornin'
Don't know if I could ever be Without you
'Cause boy you complete me
And in time I know that we'll both see That we're all we need
Cause you're the apple to my pie
You're the straw to my berry
You're the smoke to my high
And you're the one I wanna marry
Cause you're the one for me
And I'm the one for you
You take the both of us
And we're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
Baby me and you
We're the perfect two
You can be the prince and I can be your princess
You can be the sweet tooth I can be the dentist
You can be the shoes and I can be the laces
You can be the heart that I spill on the pages
You can be the vodka and I can be the chaser
You can be the pencil and I can be the paper
You can be as cold as the winter weather
But I don't care as long as were together
Don't know if I could ever be
Without you 'cause boy you complete me
And in time I know that we'll both see
That we're all we need

Social Networking?
twitter >>> blogger
^that is a twitter fad. Twitter is more fun then blogger, mostly because twitter is not acedemic. Id pick twitter over blogger any day. But this makes me wonder, willl some one ever come out with a website that is better then twitter, as twitter is better then facebook now? Will the world come to an endless fight of social networks trying to be better then other social networks? How will this effect the people? But if I had a choice, Id hope they all destroy themselves so that there were no social networks at all. Becuase in the end, we are all better off without them.

2/16/12
Bobbi Brown’s book, “Makeup Manual: For Everyone from Beginner to Pro” has everything you need to know about makeup. It you knew nothing about makeup before reading the book, after you read it you could probably stand your ground next to someone who has been wearing makeup for a while. It gives you fantastic information for everyone from beginner to professional, as stated in the title. It does a great job at celebrating 20 years of making women beautiful, also stated in the title.
This book also has many beautiful pictures. In every chapter there is picture upon picture. They are there to show beauty as well as lay out step by step procedures on how to apply makeup. The photos made me want to go out and start applying makeup. They are very inspirational and add unbelievable quality to the book.
“Makeup Manual” is very recently published, and since Brown is a makeup artist who is still in practice today, all of her techniques are very up to date, new, and fashionable. It is dated to first have been published in 2011, so its information and quality are almost completely shiny and new. The book was published in New York by the Hachette Book Group, which is a reliable publisher and publishing location. It is also stated in the book that the library of congress has copies of this book, which makes it pretty top notch.
The book has exceptional cited evidence as well. In every advice and techniques it gives, it has an explanation and evidence to show that what it stated was true. It does this in the exceptional pictures that are almost on every page of the book and through detailed lesson summaries. Bobbi Brown is also a very well known and famous makeup artist, and has been in the business for many years. You know you can rely on her for makeup advice, well, from all of her exceptional masterpieces over the years.
The quality of this book, in my opinion, was very good. It has many amazing tips and ideas to start off your makeup career. Brown has the knowledge to help you lead a career that will last you a lifetime. I would recommend this book to anyone that is interested in the art of cosmetology. I obtained so much knowledge from reading “Bobbi Brown: Makeup Manual” and it is defiantly going to be a reference for me whenever I have makeup questions.

Chapter 1: Makeup Artistry
The first chapter is Brown introducing herself and an introduction to the book. She explains how she has been playing with makeup since a young age and she has gotten better and better since. Her passion for the industry is shown in her effort , want to learn more, and goals to help other women enjoy makeup too. Brown tells how she wants this book to have everything you need to know about doing makeup and making a profession out of it. Her advice is to be open, have fun, and never stop learning.
Chapter 2: Equipment
This chapter talks about all of the supplies you will need to be successful in makeup. Whether you are just going to work or needing a fully equipped kit for a runway shoe, Brown has a checklist that will help you get started with what you need. She gives you tips on how to care for your supplies, as well as what kind of utensils to use. There is information on the best places to gather and restock your supplies from, and also how to shop for the things you need. It has the tools you need to be successful at makeup.
Chapter 3: Skin
The chapter on skin talks all about how to take care of your skin. You must have a healthy diet, exercise often, and get enough sleep to keep skin stress free. There are different foods you can eat and exercises you can do to help your skin. Brown recommends not smoking, drinking little, and having little sun exposure to protect your skin. This chapter describes the different types of skin and the ways to treat all skin types. It has the products to clean skin and how to clean it. This is where you will learn to protect your skin and keep it. Because healthy beautiful skin is the key to a beautiful you.
Chapter 4: Face
The 4th chapter talks all about your makeup on your face, including under-eye concealer, foundation powder, and blush, and how to put it on. Brown says this is the secret to a great look, and if the basics are not right, the makeup will not be either. It tells how you need to match the foundation to your skin type, the beauty of diverse skin types, and tips on self tanners as well as blush.
Chapter 5: Lips
Chapter 5 is strictly about everything that has to do with lips. Brown says lip color is one of the simplest of all makeup steps and is a great way to instantly change a look. The chapter teaches that lip color applications range from simple, blotted on stains to combinations of lip pencil, lipstick, and gloss. The right shade works with the skin tone and compliments the natural color of the face. You can choose from a wide range of product formulas, which include matte, sheer, shimmery, and creamy lipsticks and glosses.
Chapter 6: Eyes
The focus of the sixth chapter is all about the eyes. Brown says the purpose of eye makeup –whether it is simple black mascara or dramatic contouring shadow – is to make the eyes stand out. When it is done right, eye makeup can give the appearance of brighter, more beautiful eyes. She covers the basics, like choosing flattering shades and lining the eyes, as well as advanced techniques, like creating a smokey eye and applying false lashes.
Chapter 7: Ten Step Guide to Perfect Makeup
This chapter is how it sounds, the easy way to get great makeup. The steps go in this order to create a great look. 1)pre-makeup – concealer/corrector, 2)foundation, 3)powder, 4)blush, 5)lipstick, 6)lip liner, 7)brows, 8)eye shadow, 9) eyeliner, 10) mascara. It shows how makeup is simple. When you know how to apply it and have an organized makeup drawer, it should take only 5 to 10 minutes. Practice is the key.
Chapter 8: Special Makeup Application
Chapter 8’s topic is summarized in the title, it is all about applying different types of makeup for different occasions. You learn about how once you master the basic techniques of makeup, it is both fun and easy to take it to the next step for a variety of looks. Individual beauty is about knowing what to do with your own unique skin tone and features. And it is also about being confident enough to break out of your comfort zone.
Chapter 9: Artistry
This chapter gives advice and hints about breaking into the makeup industry, as well as career options and booking work. It has the points on what it takes to be a professional. Chapter 9 is all about learning to see, formulating your style, listening, collaborating, and finding your inspiration.
Chapter 10: Essential Equipment for the Professional
This chapter gives you lists upon lists of everything you need to start off a professional career in the makeup industry. Your kit should include skincare, concealer, foundation, powder, blush, eye essentials, lip products, and your fantastic application tools. With this guide your makeup kit should be set.
Chapter 11: Advanced Makeup Application
Chapter 11 has different techniques on applying makeup for special occasions and fashion. It includes makeup for photographs, black or white, dramatic makeup, magazines, film, shows, and celebrities. It says every artist needs to learn skills to successfully apply makeup on subjects for photography, fashion shows, film, and television. These opportunities allow an artist to express his or her creativity. There are no limitations when working in advanced artistry.
Chapter 12: Memorable Makeup Moments and Legends
The topic of this chapter is almost summed up in the title. It gives a very detailed history of makeup starting from 2000 B.C. to today. It also has a guide to who’s who in the makeup and who helped shape the beauty industry, including people like Coco Chanel. It is a good guide to read up on famous people and fads that made an impact.

2.) Which Essay Uses the Best Modes
The essay "Keeping Up" uses the modes of expression the most effectively. It uses almost, if not, all of them. To me, it is very clear where they are used.
The whole essay is a narrative really. Sedaris is describing he ways couples react to each other on vacation, most of the time specifically describing a certain couple he heard fighting. "When fighting on a vacation, there is nowhere to go except storming back to your hotel" (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, page 13). That cut out is a narrative, as well as an expression because he is describing a past event, and also a dialogue.
But at the same time, the essay is also an internal monologue. Throughout the entire essay, Sedaris is speaking to the audience from what he is thinking in his mind. "I lie on my couch thinking, why don’t you just ask?" (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, page 12).
Sedaris used examples of himself and Hugh, his husband on vacation too. There is lots of dialogue between them as well. He cannot stand how fast Hugh walks when in large crowds, and describes as he at the same time is using his internal monologue to narrate what happens in the situations.
“’There you are,’ I say. And when he asks where I have been, I answer honestly and tell him I was lost.” (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, page 19) This phrase is an example of many things. It is narrating what is happening, there is dialogue, internal monologue is happening as Sedaris thinks, there is description, and the only thing left out is exposition. But there is plenty of that in other parts of the essay.
This essay uses every mode multiple times. I think it’s the best one that I read to represent the different types of modes we learned about.

3.) Which Essay Effected the Most
The essay "The Monster Mash" effected me the most. It talked about death, which is a touchy subject for me, and well anyone I am sure. It really made me think about life and death, and how vulnerable it is.
In the essay, Sedaris tells how seeing so many dead people intrigued him but also disgusted him. It was intriging because all the people had died in pecular ways, for example, falling off a latter while changing a lightbulb, how unordinary. (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed In Flames, page 113) He tells how after having this experience, he is not able ti see people the same agian for weeks, always imagining them dead.
Sedaris described the dead people very detailed as well, describing a man who jumped off a building and his eyes literally fell out. That was disturbing. He talked about how, as a child, he was actually quite interested in death, as most kids are. And even when he was desgusted by it in the autopsy room, it was still intriging. I was intriged as well.
The author does a good job of keeping the reader inturestes, but also is confusing and you can lose what the topic is sometimes when you are reading. HIs experiences are pecular and sometimes I wonder if they are actually real. But in the end, I believe what I am reading because he is a pecular man and I am sure he has weird experiences.
I liked this essay the best because it had the most desription and touched me the most, even if it wasnt in a good way. Sedaris' weird way of thinking and writing is an exciting thing to get a glimpse inside of through his books.

1.) Individual Essay Reviews
The Monster Mash
The main idea of this essay is that you can die at any second, so be aware.
Sedaris is giving different ways he has experienced the different ways people have died and how pecular and spur of the moment they are. He talks in a sense of urgancy as if he too is worried about dieing. After having his experiences with many dead bodys at the morgue, he now has a new view on death. "Even the smallest things like a grape can kill you, I've seen it." (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed In Flames, page 16)
Momento Mori
The main point of this essay is agian, slightly about death. Sedaris is trying to symbolize how certian objects can flood thoughts to your mind by just looking at them, for example, his skeleton he bought for Hugh.
Sedaris' tone is very sarcastic, but also serious in a way. H egives many scenarios where he has bought something and it speaks to him, and he eventually get used to it. Like his dog painting and his stove. But is skeleton is different because it continues to speak to him and eventuallly it starts changing his views on life. "You are going to die" (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed In Flames, page 156) says the skeleton. Sedaris trys to change himself so the skeletons words are not so harsh.
All The Beauty You Will Ever Need
The main point of this essay is that when you are with someone, you should be perfect to them and they should love you for you. Other people should respect that no matter how weird you are.
Sedaris tells about how he is messy and rude sometimes to his boyfriend but he stilll loves him. And sometimes his boyfriend is "beyond faggy, picking flowers in a feild for the table" (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed In Flames, page 159) but Sedaris stilll love him. He tells about a couple he is buying drugs from and how pecular they are, but he doesnt question them because he is not one to talk. He gets relationships, saying about his man, " I am alll the beauty he will ever need" (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed In Flames, page 165)
Keeping Up
The main pont of this essay is slightly complicated. The essay stared out at how couples yell a each other on vacations, but I think the main idea ended up being how David needs Hugh.
Sedaris hears a couple outside his window and thinks abou tthe many times he has been mad at Hugh, only to get scared about leaving him and feel better. "Hugh takes care of it all, and without him, I'm like a wild animal." ( David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed In Flames, page 18) His tone is thankful, and it shows that he actually needs Hugh, considering that he himself is "afraid of people" and "could never live by himself." He includes that Hugh always walks fast, but without seeing the back of his head infron tof him, he would always get lost.
Road Trips
The main point of this story is how Sedaris felt and how he started to come out and tell people he was gay.
The tone of the essay is almost relieved. It is a personal experience he is glad to let go of. The essay tells how/who he told first and why. Also his troubles of being a homosexual as a child. "Im a homosexual." (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed In Flames, page 66) His way of starting to tell the world is tellling a random couple who picked him up. Sedaris istrying to get the reader to picture his torment and how he finally brought himself to confess.
Of Men and Mice
The main idea of this essay is about Sedaris wanting people to believe his storys because he wants to impress.
Sedaris tells scenarios about him with taxi drivera, and higher drivers, with him telling his storys. He didnt get the reactions he waned and this makes him question himself. His tone is almost irritated in this essay, as if he is still not satisfied. "These are certianly dark times, both for the burning, abnd those who would set them alight" (David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed In Flames, page 204). This shows how he is relating his burning mouse story to everyday experiences and how he is distrought over it.
